Mount Kato has new owners ahead of the 2026-2027 winter season, following a sale that closed October 15th.
The Mount Kato Ownership Group is made up of four local business owners: Jody and Jared Linder, Max DeMars and Joe Frederick Junior.
The group plans to open the winter sports facility as usual this season, with initial improvements focused on snowmaking equipment, the chalet and the point-of-sale system.
The new owners also say they want to ensure a smooth experience for the thousands of guests who visit Mount Kato each year.
The sale marks a transition from the Augustine family, which operated the business for 49 years.
Looking ahead, the new ownership group plans to develop a master plan to guide Mount Kato’s future operations and development.
